Computer doesn’t show a Keybord?
My kids’ computer stopped recognizing the keyboard.
It’s an HP Pavilion running XP Home Edition, (slow, but normally in good working order).
The kids turned it on yesterday and tried typing something, but the keyboard wasn’t on.
I went to device manager and it doesn’t even show a keyboard.
It is the original keyboard and plugs into the back, not USB.
I’ve tried restarting the comp, plugging and unplugging the keyboard but nothing.
Any suggestions?
*Also, I don’t think I have the original disk that came with the computer.
So is there somewhere I can download the keyboard info if needed?
I do have two other comps in the house, but mine runs Windows XP Pro, so I’m not sure if that disk would be of any use.
The other is Vista… (don’t even get me started on that one!) Rofl.
unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. it should seat without alot of pressure on it. then turn the computer on and see if it works. make sure when the computer boots that the led’s flicker and stay on if that is how they are set. if that does not work then try another kbd, and make sure it is the same connector. if you bend or break pins the thing is useless. if you have an hp printer, make sure you get an extended warrranty. i know people that have hp printers and the last 2 went bad after a short time. is the Computer still under warranty?
